Food scraps (same crew)

I put a little food scraps in the bucket, for one last night, to see who would come around!

parent possum (size comparison)

baby possum (look how cute and little)

raccoon, doing the same pose as the possum

the cleanup crew- again

putting out the bird food

This was a "bird food" project made at camp, but, we couldn't hang it up all over camp, due to peanut butter and allergies and fact is, it was really gooey in the end- so I'm glad I didn't have to clean up the mess- I'm happy these critters got it.

here's the photo finish!

the setup

the mouse came to check it out

NOW> look carefully at the next three raccoon photos.
identifying mark: dark back right foot, no band on front right wrist

identifying mark:  right band on front right wrist

identifying mark: Spot above right hip.

I don't make this up- that was THREE DIFFERENT raccoons. 9pm, 11pm, and 5am.

of course TWO possums come by,
(see them both?)

then, a mouse came to (attempt) to clean up after
(see him/her, on the right of the bucket?)

chippy came to help cleanup in the morning

he invited his squirrel friend to help cleanup

last bit of woods

2:30pm - Coyote- two of them
just look how beautiful.  And scary- at 2:30 in the afternoon. I know it looks like, oh, they're in the woods, it's fine. No, these woods are feet from my house. Turn the camera around, and you see my bedroom window.

11:00 am deer- two of them

one, just in the early morning hours

The woods while we were away

I know the photos are not in chronological order. But, the dates are on the bottom of the photo.

Squirrel climbing gym

she's coming

she's here

she's leaving

he's coming

he's closer.  Check out the soft velvety antlers. They will continue to grow for another couple of months.

catching up

The back woods have been monitored, I just haven't had the time to keep up this summer.  Here are the critters who have been visiting int he past weeks:
First of all, I put the camera right near the house, to see WHO was peeing on the catio.  It's a bunny. So, I put cayenne pepper ALL OVER THE PLACE>

next day- Bunny.  Cayenne isn't working. I've turned to putting the basil flowers in that area- keeps them away sightly.

 NOW, to the woods line.
